Privacy Policy

English Mutam provides personal English lessons, learning activities, progress tracking, lesson scheduling, and optional reminders and calendar synchronization. This policy explains the information used to provide those services.
Information we handle
- Account and profile details, such as name, email address, role, and sign-in identifiers.
- Learning information, including assignments, answers, progress, submissions, teacher feedback, and preferences.
- Lesson information, including teacher-student relationships, booking credits, scheduled lesson times, changes, and cancellations.
- Notification settings and the device subscription data needed to send reminders when a user enables them.
- Support messages and technical records used to protect, troubleshoot, and operate the service.
Optional Google Calendar connection
A student or teacher may choose to connect a Google account. With permission, English Mutam creates and maintains private lesson events in that account's primary Google Calendar. The app requests only identity information and permission to manage events it owns. It does not read or change unrelated calendar events.
Google authorization credentials are encrypted at rest. Disconnecting removes future mirrored lesson events before the stored Google credential is revoked and erased. Lesson booking, rescheduling, and cancellation remain controlled by English Mutam, not by edits made in Google Calendar.
How information is used
Information is used to operate the app, deliver lessons and learning activities, show progress, provide teacher feedback, manage schedules, send enabled reminders, synchronize optional calendar events, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability.
Service providers and disclosure
English Mutam uses service providers for hosting, authentication, data storage, notifications, calendar integration, and optional AI-supported learning features. They process information only as needed to provide those functions. Information is not sold. It may be disclosed when required by law or to protect users and the service.
Retention and security
Information is retained while an account is active and as reasonably needed for teaching records, security, legal obligations, and service recovery. Appropriate technical and organizational safeguards are used, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
Calendar connection is optional and can be disconnected in the app. Lesson reminders can be turned on or off in the app. Users may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to applicable recordkeeping and legal requirements.
